Signed the decree of the President of the Piedmont Region with which the regional law on hunting is repealed and the anti-hunt referendum blocked.
The president of the Piedmont Region, Roberto Cota, signed the decree on 11 May establishing that the referendum on hunting already scheduled for Sunday 3 June and the related technical operations will no longer take place.
The decree constitutes a due and non-deferrable act to be adopted following the opinion expressed by the Regional Guarantee Commission, which President Cota himself had requested on 4 May after the publication in the Official Bulletin of the Region and the simultaneous entry into force of the financial law. 2012, which in article 40 provides for the repeal of regional law n.70 / 1996 on the protection of wildlife and hunting and dictates new provisions on the subject.
The text of the decree was notified to the representative of the state for the autonomy system and to the president of the Turin Court of Appeal, as well as communicated to the mayors and presidents of the district electoral commissions of Piedmont. Monday will be published in an extraordinary supplement of the Official Bulletin of the Region.
