The pre-opening of the hunting season for the Campania Region was blocked by the TAR of Naples following the acceptance of the appeal presented to this effect by the WWF.
August 30, 2011 - The TAR of Naples gives reason to the WWF, the reasons for the appeal in question are based on the absence of a specific "wildlife plan", created on the basis of scientific studies and censuses, to be used as a guideline for regulating hunting methods and the species being hunted. According to the environmental association, the Campania Region approved a Hunting Calendar for the 2011/2012 season by granting non-regulatory activities.
A few days before the start of the season, the TAR of Naples fully accepts the appeal of the WWF, declaring the reasons provided legitimate and the practice of pre-opening illegitimate as it is not granted on the basis of proven scientific studies.
Once again the exponents of the environmentalist association protest against the advance of the hunting season in the first days of September considered "very harmful and therefore not in compliance with the scientific and regulatory dictates of the European Union", but granted by the Regions to meet to the demands of the hunting people.
The ruling of the Administrative Court thus fades the programs of many hunters who had probably already organized their hunts in pre-opening days and who instead will have to postpone every hunting project to 15 September.
