Hunting: Umbria, proposed reform of the Territorial Areas of Hunting, hunters protest fearing increase in costs and seats. Ass. Cecchini replies: "No salaries for the Board of Directors".
The hunting world tries again. Re-launch the discussion on the proposed reform of the ATCs. This time it is the turn of the “Born free Perugia” association. Convinced that the increase in territorial hunting areas, from the current three to eight, translates into a multiplication of seats, tokens and allowances. Calculation disassembled by the Regional Councilor for Hunting and Agricultural Policies, Fernanda Cecchini. “There is no salary for the members of the board of directors, nor will any allowance be granted to the presidents. Only a reimbursement of expenses, if documented ”underlines the commissioner Cecchini. It would pass from the three current Sectors, Perugia1, Perugia2 and Terni, which each have about twenty members, to eight bodies with seven councilors. It would form a regional coordination composed of all the hunting associations, plus the representatives of the Region and the Provinces of Perugia and Terni. Coordination with address tasks as well as place of verification of the Atc. A reform that, rather than multiplying costs, wants to give more voice to the hunting world. The proposal, illustrated about twenty days ago, will still be at the center of the regional hunting consultation that will meet again in the coming weeks. Then, after the summer break, it will pass to the scrutiny of the competent council commission of Palazzo Cesaroni.
"The idea is to establish, after more than fifteen years, more streamlined, flexible hunting areas linked to the different peculiarities of the Umbrian territory that can and must be enhanced by all the existing organisms from an environmental, agricultural and hunting point of view" he explains Snipers. The logic is to overcome the top-down structures and bring the Areas closer to the territory, also taking into account the birth of the Forestry Agency and the Unions of Municipalities, a proposal that the hunting world does not like, in which the recently approved calendar also enters the viewfinder. Defined by “Born free Perugia” penalizing because “it allows only one day of hunting in the first fortnight of September and denies hunting in the first ten days of February. In total - claims the association - Umbrian hunters are denied sixteen days. There is no derogation even for a healthy species like the finch ”. Considerations returned to the sender by the assessor.
“It is one of the most permissive calendars in Italy - comments Cecchini - which wants to meet the needs of shotguns, which gives satisfaction to those who hunt wood pigeon, woodcock, pheasant and hare. A calendar that respects European and national regulations ". Strict regulations as Cecchini knows well: "I am an aquarium - she smiles - I too was born free but I am the commissioner and I have to respect the laws".
