The Court of Auditors investigates Brambilla's consultants
The Lazio Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Auditors has opened an investigation on the advice to the Ministry of Tourism directed by the Minister Michela Vittoria Brambilla. Tax damage is assumed. The Prosecutor's Office, led by Pasquale Iannantuono, opened the investigation following press reports according to which over a dozen people hired at the Ministry of Tourism as consultants for the relaunch of Italy's image would carry out party activities.
According to press reports, they carry out party activities
These would be people from various backgrounds, but all with a common characteristic: having worked in the entertainment sector on Mediaset televisions. According to the accusations they would be on the payroll of the ministry or of structures dependent on it, but they would have carried out activities at the Circoli della Libertà della Brambilla. These would be people with whom the same minister Brambilla had or would have worked in the past in the entertainment world. The activity carried out would have centered entirely in Lombardy. From this press report, the Court of Auditors started with its investigation.
The accounting judges will review the contracts
Now the offices of the Court of Auditors in Viale Mazzini will examine the contracts. Precisely for this reason, a request to the ministry to provide all the documentation would be starting. There are four points of interest: the object and duration of the consultations, the curricula of the hires and the established remuneration. The accounting magistrates will assess whether or not the consultations were necessary, given that the maneuver had asked all the ministries to cut generalized and significant economic cuts.
Tax damage is assumed
The working hypothesis is obviously that of damage to the tax authorities, taking into account that the very last financial maneuver reaffirmed and aggravated the conditions of rigor for the conferment of consultancy appointments in public administrations.
