Last call for truffle enthusiasts and gourmets. Today, November 26th and tomorrow, November 27th, the National Truffle Market Exhibition returns to Valtopina, in the province of Perugia, the event dedicated to the “king of the table” and to the excellence of the Umbrian territory, such as fine oil and wines.
In the area of the sports facilities there will be 70 exhibitors who will offer visitors, in addition to the precious tuber, DOP, DOC, DOCG, IGP, BIO products, Slow Food Presidia, crafts and many national specialties.
The exhibition will open at 10 with a treasure hunt for elementary school pupils. In the afternoon, the “Autumn Perfumes” tasting starts (Centro Polivalente Subasio - Hall of Excellence), presented by the Hotel Institute of Spoleto and followed by the show “Culinary Ecstasy”, a theatrical reading with musical accompaniment.
On Sunday morning the program continues with a national competition dedicated to hunting dogs and their precious nose, and with a guided tasting of extra virgin olive oil, always set up at the Salone delle Excellence. And to still delight the palate, in the afternoon there will be another tasting where the typical Umbrian salamis will be protagonists accompanied with local craft beers.
The truffle exhibition is part of "Frantoi Aperti", the event that winds along the Strada dell'Olio Dop Umbria, scheduled until 11 December.
