Caccia Passione Magazine - Editorial March 2013 by Alberto Banchetti, Okkappa Viaggi.
The hunting season has just ended and the period of the fairs has begun which represents, for the operators of the sector, an important moment, a thermometer to evaluate the expectations for the future. The go-ahead was given by the Vicenza fair, which in an unfavorable economic moment, with the aggravating circumstance of the weather and the elections, nevertheless kept its promises, fully satisfying the expectations of both the public and those of the exhibitors.
This positive result must make us reflect, and help us to face future challenges with greater optimism. The whole hunting sector, declined in the different activities, of arms manufacturers, importers, clothing and accessories producers, hunting trip organizers, cutlery - with a peak of pride - has once again made us feel, strongly, his voice, underlining what is our concrete response to the crisis and to the invectives of those who see us only as an enemy to be eliminated.
We continue to remind these "gentlemen" that ours is a sector of excellence, in which thousands of people work honestly and with pride, who every day resist the crisis, like all other workers, but with the aggravating circumstance of fighting in a context where the "modesty" of our political class does not always make its presence and closeness felt.
The sigh of relief that we rightly drew at the conclusion of this first fair, must not, however, make us lower our attention, the road we have to travel is still long and tortuous, and often requires detours that others decide for us. From our point of view as operators, and I speak above all for those in my category of hunting tour operators, we must ceaselessly continue to move with extreme professionalism and with a growing maturity, in order not to risk creating false illusions and not wasting time and money, which today are even more precious assets, to those who turn to us.
We represent the opportunity to continue to live our passion even when national regulations do not allow it, therefore we have the duty, the obligation, to always be transparent and clear in formulating our proposals, always remembering that the relationship that is established between Cacciatori is a special relationship, those who come to us rely on our fairness and professionalism, which we have built and consolidated over the years and experiences. Let's get away from the logic of touts, where the slogan "starting from" seems to be the key to successful marketing today, otherwise you risk "shoot one and lose three"
Thank you Vicenza, you still made me hope and believe in a future of sunrises and sunsets and for giving me the strength to face the next fair occasions with the awareness that the game is always open and that the will and determination of the people of hunters is the best remedy for any discomfort!
