Coldiretti Pesaro asks for the intervention of the Police to counter the invasion of wild boars in the countryside and save the crops.
Sowing at risk after increased attacks but no one moves. An immediate intervention by the Prefecture and the police to save the sowing and prevent the situation in the countryside from degenerating. This is what Coldiretti Pesaro Urbino asks after dozens of reports of land just sown and devastated by wild boars have come from the farmers of the province in the last few days.
“Our companies are legitimately exasperated in the face of a phenomenon that prevents them from working and that puts at risk the production of wheat and other products for the next year - denounces Tommaso Di Sante, president of the provincial Coldiretti -. Given the ineffectiveness of the policy, we asked the Prefect for a meeting to seek a solution to a problem that is now of public order ”.
First of all it would be necessary to intervene in parks and oases to try to reduce the number of wild animals, now out of control, but the necessary green light has not yet been given and this is causing serious damage to companies. Only once the yes has been obtained, the territorial hunting areas (ATC) will be able to set the hunting teams in motion.
According to an analysis by Coldiretti, between road accidents and damage in the fields, wild boars cost the citizens of the Marche 4,5 million euros a year. To the 2,4 million euros of damage caused in the countryside are added those recorded in protected areas and oases, with the estimated bill reaching 3 million. Road accidents must also be considered.
Although the latest regional regulation on the matter made it more difficult to obtain compensation (which was paid only for 50 percent of the damage), the budget speaks of 1,5 million euros. And this sum does not take into account crashes actually caused by wild but now unrecognized animals.
