Boar control officer on behalf of the Provincial Forestry and Fauna Service and poacher at the same time; caught in Brione, in the province of Trento, while hunting roe deer in the reserve.
Thus the officer in charge of the control of ungulates was removed from his post by the director of the provincial Forests and Fauna service, Maurizio Zanin, as he was accused of "hunting roe deer in violation of the prohibition on the exercise of such hunting and to the internal regulations of the municipal reserve having failed to carry out the formalities required following the ascertainment of the killing of species subject to sampling planning ".
In short, as the manager Zanin admits, it is real "poaching"; furthermore, in the determination with which the officer in charge is relieved of his post, reference is made to a "violation of the procedures established for the control of the fauna, through the omission of the report of exit to the control of the wild boar".
The man was regularly authorized to control the wild boar as in 2004 he had passed the specific training course organized by the Forestry and Fauna Service of the Province of Trento.
Precisely because of the qualification held, the man could operate within the hunting reserves in his area but apparently the controller was not clear about the task to be performed as he was officially accused of hunting wild boars irregularly rather than merely controlling them.
It was to the controller-poacher the authorization to control the wild boar was immediately revoked but it could be subject to other sanctions except for possible recourse to the Regional Administrative Court with a favorable outcome.
