Six poachers caught poaching in the oasis "Seven Brothers" in the mountain areas of Capoterra located in the province of Cagliari.
The men of the Forestry and Environmental Surveillance Corps surprised six poachers during an anti-poaching operation carried out in recent days within the permanent wildlife protection oases of the Sette Fratelli mountains.
The Forestry operation took place in the Cagliari area, in particular in the mountain areas of Capoterra, Domus de Maria, Maracalagonis and Sinnai and involved the agents of the Forestry Investigative Unit as well as the agents of the stations of Capoterra, Campuomu, Castiadas, Sinnai, Muravera, Pula.
In the Capoterra area, in the locality of Bacchi Alinu, Forestry agents caught two men setting up bird traps; in the locality of Domus De Maria another poacher was stopped while three other poachers were stopped in the oasis of wildlife protection of the “Sette Fratelli” mountains.
All poachers were reported on the loose and house searches were also carried out during the anti-poaching operation which led to the seizure of four wild boars captured with the lacing system; about 500 birds of various species including robins, thrushes and blackbirds, also captured with bird nets and with horsehair strings for the most part already stored in the freezer.
The searches also led to the seizure of nine thousand horsehair strings for birds, 275 snares for ungulates such as wild boar, deer and roe deer, as well as 170 bird nets.
Still shame on the face of honest hunters from all over Italy who can not help but feel indignation by reading what unfortunately still happens in many regions.
