Poaching: from wild boar hunting to the killing of protected species Numerous hunters who acted illegally. This is what the State Forestry Corps reports on the intervention of the NOA (Nucleo Operativo Anti-poaching) within the Gargano National Park.
Assisted by the forestry staff in service in the Puglia Region, the NOA (Anti-poaching Operational Unit) has in fact reported to the Judicial Authority thirteen people now accused of poaching. Of these, three hunters were surprised during a wild boar hunt. Others, in unprotected areas, have been reported for killing of species against which hunting is not allowed (starlings, finches, frosoni, etc.) performed with the aid of prohibited acoustic warnings.
They were also seized, twelve shotguns and related ammunition. According to State Forestry Corps the intense judicial police activity carried out in the province of Foggia tended to repress the phenomena of poaching.
It was also surprised and reported a subject intent in the practice of fowling. The man was seized forty-one bird nets 30 meters long and 2 wide each, for a total of 2.460 square meters, in addition to the seizure of the larks just caught and all the material for their detention. La Forestale remembers how it is possible to report illegal hunting incidents to the toll-free number 1515 of the State Forestry Corps.
