Hunt and Migration: ANUU provides observations on the passage migratory in Italy, “Cesene on the move”.
And so we arrived at the first concrete movement of Fieldfare which had its peak on Friday 21 November, repeated in some areas on Saturday 22. The cold temperatures that are being recorded north of the western Palaearctic have moved this species that lives in cold regions. A good migratory movement that revises itself after not a few years. It is probably a good omen for the abundant appearance that is historically expected, from the ornithological hunting calendar, at the frequency of the feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8 and, for those who observe the phases of the moon, after the full moon of Saturday 6. We will see.
For now they continue to confirm their good presence on Redwing, the Frosone and the Regolo, while Peppola and Siskin are on the rise and are reported almost everywhere. Some examples of Song Thrush are still present. Autumn, in short, continues to be exciting thanks to an always positive migration, so much so that ornithologists and sheds are busy observing the natural events that occur every day.
As for the birds aquatic plants, we note the excellent presence of the Coot, the Gray Heron and the Little Tuffetto and, among them anatidae, excellent the number of specimens of Alzavola, together with the Pochard and the Moretta. As regards the Snipe, however, there are no observations of particular importance. Finally, always present, albeit moderately, the Woodcock in the places suitable for it. Meanwhile, a new year of study for the wintering project begins. While an interesting ringing activity begun on 4 August is ending in the last ten days of November, the installations for the Wintering Project, now in its eighteenth year, are being prepared at the FEIN Ornithological Observatory in Arosio.
The development is supervised by the technicians Domenico Conti and Walter Sassi and will start from 1 December 2014 to end on 31 January 2015. The activity at the ornithological station, waiting for the Cesene, tends to reach the 195.000th specimen ringed from 4 August 1977 and , as of November 23, only about thirty specimens are missing to reach this large figure.
