Poaching. They lured wild boars to a field and then killed them. The Provincial Police has identified two individuals suspected of carrying out activities hunting in a period of general prohibition.
These are two men, both residing in the Castagneto Carducci area, identified after a monitoring started in August when a patrol of provincial guards, during normal surveillance activities for the protection of wildlife and the production of agricultural crops, had discovered an area apparently intended as a feeding point for animals within the "hunting area" of Castagneto Carducci.
In fact, various damages to agricultural crops by boars and for this reason the Provincial Command had arranged a day and night monitoring to understand if the baiting site was destined to attract wild animals. Which, then, was punctually verified, but in addition to the animals, two individuals were also sighted intent on taking care of the baiting, also equipped with weaponry.
Given that there was a hypothesis of a crime (hunting in an illegal period is punishable by arrest from 3 months to 1 year or a fine), the Public Prosecutor's Office was informed and took over the direction of the investigations by ordering the monitoring of the 'area, this time for the identification of the subjects involved. The investigations, which lasted for over a month, made it possible to identify the two individuals.
The prosecutor then ordered a search of the home of one of the two men, in the hamlet of Donoratico, during which rifles, clothing and equipment for night poaching were found and seized, as well as numerous traps for the capture and killing of wild animals.
In addition, a 12-gauge semi-automatic rifle, also seized, was found in a vehicle in use by the suspect, and the person now risks a complaint for failure to keep the weapon.
