What is the Quirinale doing? Sells wild boars. Alive. With all the specimens of these cute little animals in free circulation in Rome, now the Colle, thanks to a public auction notice, is looking for buyers of wild boars, "In the context of wildlife containment operations for the purpose of environmental rebalancing". As stated in the text written by the administration of the presidency of the Republic led by Sergio Mattarella, “the auction concerns the sale of live wild boars (small specimens, sub-adults, adults) captured starting from 2021 August XNUMX within the Castelporziano estate as part of the wildlife containment operations for the purpose of environmental rebalancing.
At the end of the auction, an annual contract will be stipulated with the successful bidder, renewable for a further year at the same prices, agreements and conditions, concerning the sale of live wild boars caught in the Estate during the contract term by split delivery ". It should be noted that "the contractor will purchase the live boar heads in the quantities that will be delivered by the administration during the term of the contract. The total number of wild boar heads sold will depend on the catch trend.
As an indication only, it is shown that the average number of catches of the last six seasons is equal to 852 head per year". The expected amounts? “Adult male and female specimens”, 110 euros each. Subadults called "red" of both sexes, born in 2020, 60 euros. For the little ones called "striated" of both sexes, born in the year 2021 and already weaned, 8 euros. Those who want to participate in the auction have time until the next 8 July. Hoping then not to find the same wild boars walking around the capital, which then maybe will be the subject of another auction by the Capitol (From Il Tempo).
