Selection Hunting: The Province of Bergamo organizes courses for hunters; “They will be a success”.
It is an initiative that the Province of Bergamo will discuss, which in recent days presented the second edition of the training organized by the Bergamo Wildlife Academy for aspiring ungulate selection hunters. Registration for the first two courses that will start in autumn are open from 1st August to 15th September. These are the course for biometric detector of ungulates and the course on ballistics applied to hunting ungulates. “After the great success of last year we have decided to propose a new edition”, explains councilor Alessandro Cottini.
The numbers of the first year of operation of the Bergamo Wildlife Academy are highly respected, born from the collaboration between the Hunting and Fishing service of the Province of Bergamo and the Bergamo Training Company (ABF): 80 people (including students, teachers and staff in charge of the organization ) involved; 57 students participating, all qualified to practice selection hunting for ungulates in the various Italian provinces.
The series of in-depth lessons on ballistics applied to selective hunting took place between February and early July. Based on previous experience, the second course for the qualification of ungulate selection hunters will also conform to the training course defined by the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (Ispra).
The courses are open to all those interested in deepening the themes of conservation and hunting wildlife management of the heritage present in the Bergamo area, as well as obtaining the relative qualifications and will take place in the evening at the ABF headquarters in Bergamo, in via Monte Gleno. .
In particular there will be two, as explained on the website of the Province of Bergamo:
-Course for biometric detector and health monitoring of ungulates aimed at hunters who practice selection hunting and for personnel who work at the biometric centers for checking the animals taken in order to deepen the knowledge on the biometric detection of ungulates, as well as the health aspects connected with the treatment of the species taken, in line with the new regulations in the sector.
-Course of ballistics applied to hunting ungulates aimed at improving the theoretical and practical knowledge of weapons, both in the context of selection hunting for ungulates, and in the context of team hunting for wild boar, as regards the use of weapons. rifled barrel and smooth-bore ball loaded.
The courses aim to improve the basic knowledge that should guide and empower the cacciatore in the practice of hunting, and also to provide that contribution that is now required of the whole community in the field of wildlife conservation.
