Hunting: in Sassello, in the province of Savona, an excessive concentration of hunters, the Municipality threatens to impose a ban on hunting in the area of competence to protect public and private safety.
In 2010 the Municipality of Mioglia, by order of the mayor, had banned hunting activities throughout the municipal area, invoking reasons of public order. The Miogliese Wildlife Hunting Company had been declared invalid by the Province of Savona and a problem had arisen for the safety of mushroom hunters and hunters, as there was a risk of passing from a reserved hunt to no more than 60 hunters in the presence of an unlimited and uncontrollable number who would storm the woods. The provision of the Municipality of Mioglia has now been evoked by the municipal council of Sassello as an extreme solution "if measures capable of reducing the potential danger to public and private safety deriving from an abnormal concentration of hunters in the period in which most of the neighboring territory is forbidden or limited ”to hunting sedentary fauna.
The problem arises from the fact that sedentary hunting was again forbidden in the Piedmont area until 4 October 2015, while the Province of Genoa, as usual, adopts diversified openings for the same game. Faced with this situation, the hunting calendar of the Province of Savona foresees the opening to the sedentary house for Sunday 20 September and the risk, for the Sassellese, is to be faced with an invasion by hunters from outside the province and outside the region. .
Hence the decision to entrust the mayor with the mandate to take any initiative deemed necessary to safeguard the safety of the territory and of people, in line with the requests of Sassello hunters and local hunting associations that have long required unified openings and early closure of the hunt. as of December 31 of each year.
