The Carabinieri of Sarzana and Santo Stefano (province of La Spezia) intervened in the area of Tavolara to arrest three North Africans between the ages of 20 and 30 on charges of possession and trafficking of drugs. The military arrived on the spot, a wood suspiciously frequented by the group of drug dealers during the night. The report came from some local hunters who became aware of the illegal activities and called in the patrol.
The same Carabinieri then stationed themselves near a hunting lodge and with the night vision goggles they were able to better observe the scene. The three were swapping drugs and were promptly stop to release the handcuffs. A dose of cocaine was about to be delivered to a 40-year-old Italian but it was not possible thanks to the blitz. They also had several grams of hash and packaging material with them.
The drug dealers were then tried with the very direct rite. As often happens, the hunting world proved to be useful and precious in dealing with an illegal operation, their phone call to 112 made it possible to avoid the transfer of substances and bring criminals to justice.
