Il Department of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences (DAPHNE) ofUniversity of Tuscia proposed monitoring the presence of woodcock asking for the collaboration of Territorial Areas of Hunting of Lazio. In particular, the ATCs were invited to propose courses for the qualification to monitoring of this species, activity approved by ISPRA. Classes have a total duration of 20 hours and also include a hands-on monitoring exercise in the field.
The actual activity, then, can be carried out within the protected and non-protected areas, depending on the availability that will be shown and in collaboration with the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. Some Sectors have invited the registered hunters to forward the adhesions in case there is an interest in participating in these courses, as happened for ATC Frosinone 1.
By November there will be the didactic coordination of the courses, while between December and March we will proceed with the identification of the sampling areas, assistance to detection of satellite data, data collection, preparation of information material and scientific production.
