THEProject Unit for eradication of African swine fever in Sardinia has decided to change the provision relating to wild boar hunting on the island. This is the discipline introduced during the 2017-2018 season and which involved the so-called "red zone", the one in which the risk of the disease is highest. To submit applications for authorization of the levy in derogation in the infected area there will be another month.
The previous deadline was set for 30 July, while the new one has been moved to the August 31th, 2018. This is an important update for map-bounded municipalities where wild animals are infected. The list includes new municipal territories, viz Atzara, Ulassai and Perdasdefogu, as the ungulates tested positive for African swine fever were different.
Furthermore, from 13 September to 2 October, meetings will be held in Sardinian territories of considerable importance as regards this topic. The first appointment will be that of Norbello, while the cycle of meetings will end in Tempio Pausania. The courses can be attended by the representatives of the hunting teams, the owners of the agritourism-hunting companies, those of the Dog Training Areas, but also the wild boar farms for restocking purposes. The training certificate obtained in past hunting seasons exempts from participating in lessons.
