Techniques and methods for monitoring homeothermic wildlife and for promoting coexistence with human activities. It is called in this way the Summer School which will take place by 21 27 to August next and organized byUniversity of Udine. The appointment has now reached its seventh edition and takes advantage of the precious collaboration of Julian Prealps Natural Park.
To register there is time until August 3, so there are still a few days left. The park itself will host all educational activities, in addition to the town of Lusevera and the surrounding areas, while the lectures will take place at the auditorium hall of the visitor center in Pian dei Ciclamini (Lusevera) and at the “Il Villaggio degli Orsi” Visitor Center in Stupizza. They will not fail practical and application lessons. It is a total of 80 hours (24 of lectures and 56 practices), with a one-hour final test: the course will have a value of 4 university formative credits.
The main objective is to study the monitoring of homeothermic alpine fauna, above all large carnivores such as bear, wolf and lynx, in addition to mesocarnivores (otter, golden jackal and wild cat), ungulates and birds of prey. You will learn the notions related to invasive monitoring, marking and use of camera trapping. A maximum of 25 participants will be admitted.
