Genoa – The Liguria region has simplified the regulation for wild boar hunting in order to combat the spread of African swine fever. The goal is to streamline bureaucratic procedures and make disease eradication actions in Liguria more effective. The changes mainly concern hunting teams and hunting calls to action, allowing for more days and fewer constraints.
The new provisions, agreed with the extraordinary commissioner Vincenzo Caputo, provide that the teams in the territorial hunting areas are made up of at least fifteen members instead of twenty. Furthermore, the days available for hunting go from two (Wednesday and Sunday) to three, at the choice of the teams, with a maximum of ten seasonal days.
In addition to this, it will be possible to practice stalking with a minimum of twelve hunters in the hunting territorial areas and nine hunters in the Alpine districts. This count also includes non-team hunters and allows for multiple shoots to be carried out simultaneously by a team.
