Despite in-depth articles, news and invitations aimed at discouraging behaviors that, albeit in good faith, can be potentially dangerous, the presence of specially placed food continues to be ascertained.
About a year ago (9 September 2016) the Park sent a note inviting the 15 Municipalities of the Castelli Romani to issue ordinances prohibiting the practice of foraging the wildlife. To date, Albano Laziale, Ariccia, Grottaferrata, Lariano, Monte Compatri have joined.
It is reiterated that feeding wild boars is prohibited by law, therefore punishable, and the natural fear of the same for humans decreases, favoring the possibility of close encounters; the abandonment of food near the roads invites the animals to cross them, with the risk of serious collisions.
