What it is an emergency we have said it many times. THE boars, Also in Valcamonica average, devastate the territory and have now reached the gates of the towns, a Cimbergo, Braone, Niardo and neighboring. Meadows, pastures and gardens are "plowed" and turned upside down so deeply that, in some cases, it is impossible to restore the situation. The problem now is that these animals have also crossed over to the other side of the valley, at the foot of the Concarena, where there are vineyards on the valley floor. For now it seems that they remain at high altitudes, but - given what has happened on the other side - it is probable that they will also reach low altitudes. Devastating - this is terror - plants where the red and white grapes from which the Igt wines of the Valley are derived. And, with each passing season, the situation gets worse.
This is why the mayors of the area have written a letter to the Province, asking them to intervene. The result is that from 20 August they will leave a series of hunting trips, systematic and well organized, to kill a good number of animals and try to contain their spread.
"There have become many people who come to the municipalities to report the presence and damage - reports the mayor Marzia Romano -: we will make various surprise jokes, we hope to be able to decrease their presence before the females reproduce. We hope they are effective, otherwise we will do something stronger ».
Last spring was the "red dot" in the area of Braone and Cimbergo, then things calmed down due to the great heat (wild boars do not like to circulate in high temperatures). But they are in the meantime dozens of compensation claims. The animals arrived a hundred meters from Braone, fifty meters from the first houses as the crow flies, although there have never been negative episodes with people. «They are destroying our territory - declares the mayor of Braone Gabriele Prandini -: the localities Scalassone and Piazze are like potato fields. And it seems that nobody really wants to solve the problem ».
