On February 9th it was published in Official Gazette the resolution approving the National Forest Strategy (SFN). It is a forest planning document of national significance, never drawn up before in our country, to which all future actions and interventions in our woods must comply. It will have a twenty-year validity and has already obtained an allocation of 30 million euros for the year 2022, which will lead to a total investment of 420 million euros in the 2032.
This document also directly affects us hunters as for the first time in forest planning we speak explicitly of wildlife management, with precise actions and guidelines for intervention. All this was possible thanks to a proposal fromStudies and Research Office of the Italian Federation of Hunting, which in the public consultation phase of the aforementioned draft of the National Forest Strategy, sent to the competent Ministry (MIPAAF) its technical observations which have all been accepted and fully acknowledged.
In a nutshell, the forest planner will have to carry out in the future silvicultural interventions in our woods that also satisfy these requests for the protection and management of wildlife. For further information, it is possible to consult the complete document of the plan on the ministerial website https://www.reterurale.it/foreste/StrategiaForestaleNazionale or consult the attachments to this note where you can find the extracts of the plan relating to the specific actions resulting from the indications of Hunting Federation.
“The attention and recognition received by the Ministry towards Federcaccia thanks to ours technical observations to the SFT - said the National President Massimo Buconi - they are a source of pride and satisfaction for us all as it brings us closer to the role that belongs to us of valid partner at national level in discussions of environmental issues in our country "(source: Hunting Federation).
