From AIW a document to the Agriculture Commission of the Chamber of Deputies on the problem of the excessive proliferation of the wolf in Italy which adds to the already well-known problems caused by ungulates such as wild boars.
We read in the press release of AIW, dated 24 September 2011, of the great satisfaction for the interest in the document by the Commission, instead opposed and mistreated by the usual blind environmentalists who do not seem to notice the great damage done to humans by these animals.
"With great satisfaction it is communicated that the Document of the Italian Wilderness Association signed by the undersigned, titled" The Wolf problem in Italy "and dated 20 August last, although snubbed and / or ignored, vilified and rejected in principle by most of the world environmentalist (rather than, if anything, contesting it and refuting it on the merits as it would have been a good democratic rule and civil life, respecting the right of thought and word that our Constitution also protects) was, on the contrary, carefully read by the XIII Commission Agriculture of the Chamber of Deputies which is dealing with the problem of the damage that wild boars and wolves are causing to farmers and breeders - and / or shepherds - throughout the country ”.
According to what was communicated to the undersigned by the President of the Commission, this Document will in fact be taken into due consideration. Particular attention will be given to the "strategy represented with regard to the presence of the Wolf - consisting, briefly, in identifying three categories of areas, with different degrees of protection - which constitutes a proposal that can be deepened during the legislative activity that the Commission intends to carry out ".
Evidently there is still someone in this country who knows how to use logic and reasonableness to try to solve the many problems that society poses to us, in this case that an EXCESSIVE presence of wild boars and wolves cannot be sustainable in a overpopulated and developed country like ours.
A problem that, moreover, disavows all the “ecological” theses on the fact that the very presence of the Wolf would have ensured to keep the populations of ungulates low, which, on the other hand, does not happen regularly; at least in our country. Those who are infatuated with the Wolf "totem", idealized and imagined as a symbol of a wild world that no longer exists here except in remnants of areas subjected and enclosed between towns and cities, agricultural and pasture areas, roads and highways (where now even the Wolf is forced to live), ignore the variable that if such a rule applies to the large wilderness areas of North America or Europe and Asia where the only herbivore populations are wild ungulates (but, unfortunately, increasingly often, even up there the man is forced to intervene to reduce the consistency of the Wolf), this, above all, cannot happen in a country like ours where the presence of domestic herds far exceeds that of the wild ones.
It is a simple matter of common sense, but common sense is often buried under a blanket of eco-animalist illusion which end up doing even more damage to those animal species that one would like to protect, such as the wolf or the bear. It is not, in fact, that bears and wolves can be saved by ignoring human rights, with the claim (not declared, but in fact endorsed) that citizens who suffer damage from Wolf and Boar must pay for the right of the whole society to enjoy the presence of these animals, rather than society to pay the damage that their presence causes to a few citizens. The ecological rules are fine in theory, but in practice they must always be corrected with a little common sense!
The Wolf is saved by respecting the rights of those who suffer damage from the Wolf. By not transforming the Wolf's greatest "food supporters" into his worst enemies! Go ahead with the Commission.
