Following the effects of the sentence of the Constitutional Court of the past few days, which it sanctioned the effective legitimacy of the practice of wildlife control through the use of art. 37, a regulatory vulnerability has been created which risks severely limiting the containment capacity of ungulate populations, with potential consequences in terms of damage to agricultural production throughout the regional territory. In fact, the impossibility of exercising control over art. 37 in the techniques of hunted and shot for all members of the boar hunting teams and those qualified, who before the sentence of the CC were equivalent to those who had received specific training pursuant to article 37, coma 4 ter of Regional Law 3/94, risks creating an operational limit for the carrying out of abatement interventions that will be difficult to overcome in the short term.
Spring represents a very delicate moment for agricultural production, therefore, the lack of qualified personnel capable of carrying out the aforementioned interventions, could be decisive for a potential increase in damage to Tuscan agriculture and wildlife management. Marco Salvadori, Regional President of Federcaccia Toscana, acting as spokesperson for all the confederate associations to the CCT, therefore urged the councilor for agriculture and hunting Stefania Saccardi to identify the necessary technical-legislative solutions to quickly overcome this deficiency. A solicitation that will certainly find attention on the part of the Councilor who immediately proved sensitive to these issues.
