Respected and no longer tolerated. Or worse. This is how the hunters of tomorrow must be for the Presidency Council that the elective Assembly of the oldest and today most representative Italian hunting association has indicated as a guide for the next 5 years. A formal step, but no less important for this, which confirms what not by chance was the only list presented and signed by a very large majority, an expression of unity and sharing of intentions and choices within that democratic process of comparison and synthesis that always characterizes the associative life of the Federation. Massimo Buconi, outgoing vice-president, was thus invested with the role of national president to the applause of those present, who came to the capital from all the provinces of Italy to speak on behalf of the nearly 300 Federcaccia members.
"My first thought - Massimo Buconi began speaking after the ratification of the result of the polls - goes to those who, with their commitment and work, have made Federcaccia the great association it is today. And among these in the first place I put all our municipal presidents, who operate in the area silently and often in an unknown way putting all their energies at the service of our flag, but above all of hunting and hunters. My heartfelt and sincere goes to them: Thank you!
Thanks which I also address to all of you provincial presidents present here today - declared the new president - and those who have placed their trust in me and in the team that will accompany me in the difficult task that awaits us in the coming years. As I had already had the opportunity to say at the time of submitting my candidacy, it is my intention and this Council's intention to deepen and continue some lines drawn by my predecessor Gian Luca Dall'Olio - my grateful thoughts and that of the whole Federation go to him too -, and whose design I had seen with conviction to participate.
We are talking about giving more and more space to scientific research aimed at supporting a sustainable hunting practice that respects biodiversity, an instrument of management that enhances and protects our naturalistic heritage; reorganize the Federcaccia structure at all levels according to managerial principles of efficiency, contributing to the training of a new class of hunting managers, not only young, but better prepared, able to protect hunters throughout the territory and promote hunting in society . A way also to return to attract young people to our ranks. A proactive approach, at national and European institutions, also made up of open dialogue, but without giving in or misunderstandings, with anyone who deals with the environment without ideological bias and with all the other hunting associations ... With them we will have to face the essential issue of unity of the hunting world. Federcaccia will field an intelligent and generous proposal, which we hope no one will mistake for submissiveness or compliance in the defense of our identity at all levels. A particular confrontation and on new bases will then be opened with the agricultural world and its representatives " concluded Buconi.
Together with Massimo Buconi, the three candidates for vice-presidents were elected - Mauro Cavallari, from Lombardy; Moreno Periccioli, from Tuscany; Giuseppe Giordano, from Calabria - and five directors: Mario Basile, Puglia; Andrea Ferrara, Campania; Stefano Merighi, Emilia Romagna; Oscar Stella, Veneto; Edmondo Vivoli, Lazio. The first National Council will be held very soon to give continuity to the Federation's work in a moment of extreme importance for hunting events and to better organize the work that the new Bureau will carry out together with the Regional and Provincial presidents.
