Hunting: Lazio, the Region with its own decree extends the closure of the 2013-2014 Hunting Season for some species.
The Lazio Region with a decree of President Nicola Zingaretti postponed the closing of the hunting season to 10 February 2014 for hunting wood pigeons (Colomba Palumbus), hooded crow (Corvus corone cornix), magpie (Pica pica) and jay (Garrulus Glandarius) . The hunting exercise will be allowed only to hunters residing in the Lazio region, only for the wood pigeon species the mobility regime is foreseen; hunters with registered residence outside the Lazio region will be able to operate limited to the territory of the ATC where they have their hunting residence. But the postponement granted by the Pisana is bound to the observance of other specific prescriptions as regards the stalking and the quantity of game that can be hunted. Hunting is allowed only from fixed and / or temporary stalking. The stalking must be located no less than 500 meters from wetlands, frequented by water birds as they are sensitive to disturbance caused by hunting and at a distance greater than 500 meters from rocky walls or partially so.
The daily game bag limit, for each hunter, is established as a total of twenty heads of the authorized species, of which, in any case, no longer five heads for the Colombaccio species. Hunting is allowed without the aid of the dog and must take place from 6.15 am to 17.30 pm. In the Special Protection Areas (SPAs) hunting is allowed only on Thursdays and Sundays.
Each hunter who benefits from the extension will have to report, in pen and indelible ink on his hunting card, on the “February 2014” page, in the columns reserved for the collection of “sedentary game” the species hooded crow, magpie and jay; in the columns reserved for the collection of "migratory game", the wood pigeon species.
