Hunting in derogation: Tuscany, the provincial councilor Crescioli specifies on the hunting in derogation to the Starling "foreseen when damage to agriculture is ascertained or for other localized and documented specific reasons".
The provincial councilor for the environment Renzo Crescioli intervenes with a clarification on a note by Alessio Spinelli, candidate in the primary elections of the Democratic Party in Fucecchio, relating to the hunt for starling, “Liquidated the damages actually verified. And here is the situation with regard to hunting in derogation ”. "With regard to what was stated by Alessio Spinelli, the following is specified:
Starling hunting is prohibited on the basis of EU Directive 2009/147 / EC;
Hunting in derogation is foreseen when damage to agriculture is ascertained, or for other localized and documented specific reasons (for example air safety) and is granted by the Tuscany Region. The Province of Florence has requested, as every year, the derogation for all the municipalities of its territory. The Tuscany Region has granted the derogation for the 2013/14 hunting season in all those Municipalities in which at least 200 euros of damage had been ascertained in 2012. Since no requests were received from citizens and companies in the Municipality of Fucecchio, there is no derogation in this territory ".
Continuing the commissioner explains, "Contrary to what has been stated, it appears to this body that ATC 5 has paid the damage actually verified, as also demonstrated by both the fact that the derogation was granted in the 2012/13 Hunting Season, as well as that the same is was granted in the current season in the municipalities adjacent to Fucecchio and belonging to the same ATC. Finally, it is necessary to note the will of the Tuscany Region, expressed through the mouth of the councilor Gianni Salvadori, to ask the eu for an amendment to the aforementioned community directive that allows hunting because after wild boar and roe deer it is the species that causes the most damage to 'agriculture".
Councilor Crescioli remains available for any clarification, even public, that is necessary so that these issues, undoubtedly delicate and relevant for realities such as that of Fucecchio, are dealt with with the necessary concreteness "albeit in an electoral confrontation that can manifest all the harshness of the case ".
