Hunting: Liguria, the third Hunting Calendar of the 2013-2014 season approved this morning, hunting reopened on Saturday 2 November. For the commissioner Briano it is a "provision respectful of the environment and fauna".
The third Hunting Calendar was approved this morning by the Ligurian Regional Council, after the unanimous favorable opinion of the advising commission. The provisional calendar will take effect immediately starting from tomorrow Friday 1 November, a day of hunting silence, so the hunt will be able to resume from next Saturday 2 November. Like the previous calendar, it lasted until the end of November pending the ruling of the Council of State and differs from the previous one, as requested by the TAR, for the ban on lead ammunition for wild boar hunting.
Councilor Renata Briano assures that she will continue to defend her work in all offices, believing from the very first moment that she has approved a calendar that respects the laws of the environment and fauna. And he hopes that all the Regions and the Government and Parliament will take action to bring some clarity to a too complex legislation that leaves the Regions alone to face continuous appeals with results that are too often different from each other.
Among the changes made, previously announced the obligation to use non-toxic ammunition, lead-free cartridges, to all forms of hunting ungulates. "The result - commented the councilor Ezio Chiesa - allows us to resume hunting wild boars which in recent weeks had become more and more intrusive, causing further damage in the hinterland already decimated by bad weather".
