Hunting: Liguria, ready the text of the new Hunting Calendar valid for the 2014-2015 season positively proposed to the scrutiny of the Giunta by the councilor Briano.
The Liguria Region launches the new Hunting Calendar for the 2014/2015 season. The proposal, which will be submitted next week to the Regional Council for final approval, was approved by the Burlando Council, on the proposal of the councilor for hunting Renata Briano. To present it, regional offices in close contact with the University of Genoa, to arrive at a document supported by a considerable amount of scientific data. The provision was submitted to the prior opinion of the Regional Wildlife-Hunting Commission composed, among other things, of members of the environmental protection, hunting and agricultural associations, and of the Scientific Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), which gave an overall positive opinion. The approved document was drawn up in compliance with national legislation and in compliance with European directives on the protection of wildlife and hunting.
Changes have been introduced compared to last year which mainly concern the protection of avifauna. Among these, the extension of the ban on the use of lead-containing ammunition, considered toxic, in all wetlands of the region to protect the birds that frequent these habitats. Another novelty is the limitation of the two additional hunting days, in the period from 1 October to 30 November, to 5 migratory species, instead of, as in the past, to all huntable migratory species. The hunting calendar was launched by the regional council well in advance in order to guarantee greater certainty to those who practice hunting in our area.
