Ringing at the station of the Mount Pizzoc, in the province of Treviso, ended some time ago and the report of the autumn season 2017, in addition to that of the stations active in the so-called Alps project. For the Pizzoc structure the results were extraordinary, since the record of ringed specimens, in addition to the record of species caught since the opening of the station (four years ago).
The activity began on 23 September last and ended on 1 November: they were 38 days characterized by 5436 catches, while there were 66 different species. There was no shortage of rarities, namely the Ural owl (the first ever catch for the entire Alpi Project) and the foreigner. The most captured species of all was the robin (1220 specimens), followed by the black redstart (540 birds) and the finch (531).
Compared to previous years, then, it was an exceptional year for what concerns the siskins (almost 400 specimens) and the rock thrushes (106 to be precise). The participation was very interesting, intense thanks to almost 70 participants, including several students from all parts of Italy, as well as foreign enthusiasts.
