A little less than a week ago, Wednesday 1st November 2017, the ringing station of the Mount Pizzoc, in the province of Treviso: as pointed out by the managers of the structure, it was almost a shame, given that the last day was splendid and characterized by a sustained step. After five weeks, tiring but also intense and full of joys and satisfactions, goodbye is always painful but necessary.
Until 10 six days ago over 120 specimens were captured, then we proceeded with the disassembly of the system. The overall species of the final day were 17, in particular there were numerous stone thrushes, finches and brambles, as well as rulers, blackbirds, cesene, crosses, siskin, two tordele and five song thrushes. Now the Treviso pass is ready to face the winter season without ringers.
The 2017 season was judged splendid thanks to the excellent weather conditions (a novelty compared to recent years), while the catches were amazing. All the volunteers have made a great effort and great availability, putting themselves at the service of research. We are now looking forward to 2018 with great optimism.
