The ringing station of the Mount Pizzoc, in the province of Treviso, has updated the latest data relating to catches and to migratory step. The season is now coming to an end and they are starting to do budgets and accounts. The results were judged to be extraordinary and we have now reached thecopy number 5 thousand as regards the catches. Sunday 29 October was characterized by the presence of many brambles (39 specimens to be precise), finches (25) and siskins (16), but the numbers relating to rock thrushes, regoli and black tits.
The following day the wind dropped and there was a decidedly more modest pace than in the last few days, despite a fair number of catches: the "podium" was occupied by the same three species just mentioned, but with a lower total.
On Tuesday, October 31st, the day was very varied, with the weather essentially stable and without the wind that had penalized the structure 24 hours earlier. The species captured were 22, especially siskin (44), finches (25 specimens) and stone thrushes (21). Just the sassello seems to score a record transition this year: now we await the latest updates to draw up the final balance sheet of the ringing.
