After the official departure of the plan collection of the deer on the Colmen, in the municipal area of Duty (in the province of Sondrio), they already know each other the first data on hunting the hoofed animal. The plan was authorized by the Lombardy province and a few days ago 20 hunters selected by the Morbegno Alpine District they had the opportunity to go to the area and begin to control the population. The withdrawal will last until next December and always on Thursday.
The first report speaks of 7 culled deer: it is about 4 adult females, two one year old females and one twelve month old spindle. As reported by the hunters themselves, the animals were full of ticks and this is a confirmation that the plan is fundamental to sanitize the population. Enrico Marchesini, number one of the hunters of the lower valley, wanted to emphasize that we must speak of "selected hunting" and not of "decimation".
The problem has existed for years in this part of Lombardy and the culls are the ideal choice to solve it. As requested by the Province of Sondrio, the only deer that cannot be hunted are adult males; furthermore, if the female is with a young, the latter must be killed before the mother.
