On the question of Lagoons of Orbetello important news arrives. After a hard work of documentation and comparison, on Friday 4 October, the opinion of the Ministry of the Environment and of the Protection of the Territory and the Sea which clearly confirmed what has been argued for some time by the Circolo Cacciatori di Orbetello, ACMA, Federcaccia, and CCT: the "appearance", on the cartographic portal of the Environment and regional ministry, of a state nature reserve on the perimeter of the APG Lagune di Orbetello, it is the result of a mere error.
Part of the full text is reported:
With reference to the request for clarification regarding the perimeter of the State Natural Reserve of the Orbetello Lagoon, the following is represented. With the Ministerial Decree of 8 August 1980 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, the Animal Population Nature Reserve was established "Oasis of the Orbetello di Ponente Lagoon". With the Ministerial Decree of April 15, 1981 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, in agreement with the Ministry of Mercantile Marine, the animal population reserve "Laguna di ponente di Orbetello (part)" was established, canceled by Constitutional Court with sentence no. 223 of 13 July 1984. For mere clerical error, the cartography attached to the aforementioned decree of 1981 was taken into consideration and it is therefore confirmed that the perimeter of the State Nature Reserve is that relating to the Ministerial Decree of 8 August 1980.
Davide Senserini - President of Federcaccia Grosseto and coordinator of the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters of Grosseto - "While welcoming the news, we remain embittered by a management of the affair that has highlighted important gaps and superficiality on the part of the various actors involved (ATC GR7, Tuscany Region, Provincial Police), leading to the loss of several hunting days for aquatic hunters who had already paid the registration fee to the ATC GR7 Sud and to the APG. In fact, we recall that the opening of hunting in the lagoon was set for 1 October. There are many questions that hunters ask themselves about each other. Because we have only arrived today to unravel a situation that has been known since March and on which the Hunters Club and the CCT had immediately suggested the solution?
Why was the whole preparatory process for hunting in the lagoon blocked? Why was the activity suspended throughout the territory affected by the APG rather than just the portion on which the doubt hung? Why has the procedure for the reimbursement of registration fees started in a hurry without waiting for a clarification on a cartography that immediately appeared a macroscopic error? Questions that alone highlight the approximation with which we acted on the skin of all the hunters involved in the most important period of the hunting season. " The ATC 7 management committee is expected to meet today to deliberate on the reopening of the hunt after the exaggerated choice of suspension.
All the necessary operations to start the hunting activity still remain to be carried out, i.e. the printing of the badges for the members, the tabellation and the arrangement of the ambushes which makes us foresee that several days will pass before we can return to hunting in the lagoon ... but in the meantime some hunting association sings victory even though they have not taken any action to unravel the situation and thanking the chairman of the ATC 7 whose management of the affair appears, for the reasons mentioned above, to be extremely incomplete at the very least. Finally, thanks to the Parent Company PD Regione Toscana Leonardo Marras and to FI Senator Roberto Berardi who took the matter to heart and put aside the opposing political opinions.
