Hunting: Tuscany, the new regional hunting calendar valid for the 2014-2015 hunting season has been approved by the regional council. The hunt opens on September 21st.
Approved by the Regional Council on Hunting Calendar 2014-2015. The regional councilor for Agriculture and Hunting, Gianni Salvadori, explained "There are no substantial changes compared to the previous one, with the confirmation for each individual species, of the scientific supports and of the Community or national regulatory provisions to support the choices made by Region and with some adjustments that have been suggested by ISPRA (Higher Institute for Environmental Research and Protection) to safeguard natural environments and to defend biodiversity ”. Also confirmed the application in the territory of the international convention of AEWA (Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds - Agreement on the Conservation of Aquatic Migratory Species) which prohibits the use of lead ammunition in all artificial lakes and wetlands and not only within the Special Protection Areas. Seasonal collection limits have also been confirmed for some huntable species. The regional councilor then specified that the taking of Colombo and Storno ("two species harmful to our territory") will be the subject of another specific resolution.
