The draft of the Hunting Calendar of Umbria is ready, presented yesterday to the Wildlife Hunting Council at the Regional Hunting Department.
According to the draft of the hunting calendar for the 2012/2013 season presented yesterday by the regional hunting councilor, Fernanda Cecchini, the pre-opening is scheduled for 1 and 2 September exclusively at the hunting faunal council meeting at the councilorship in the Umbria Region. from stalking to the species turtledove, blackbird, hooded crow, jay and magpie.
The general opening of hunting to all other huntable species is foreseen according to the draft for 16 September; as regards the wild boar, hunting will begin on 30 September. Councilor Cecchini stated on the new Hunting Calendar, "The participation phase will now open on the draft calendar, with the aim of arriving at a text shared with the hunting associations, which reconciles the needs of hunters together with those of the world. agriculture and the protection of the natural environment and fauna, all in compliance with EU and national regulations ".
Continuing, Cecchini explains, "We have asked the hunting, environmental and agricultural world, the Provinces and the Atc to formulate any observations or proposals by May 2, so that the next hunting consultation can make a draft of calendar to be pre-adopted by mid-May ".
Councilor Cecchini then continues exposing the Calendar, "Among the novelties of the calendar there is in fact the advance, starting from June 16, of the selection hunt for the roe deer, red deer, fallow deer and mouflon species and for this it becomes essential to approve the calendar no later than June 15th ".
Finally, Cecchini concludes, “The damage caused by wildlife, in particular wild boar and roe deer, weighs on the regional budget for about two million euros. And therefore, to make the containment policies of these species effective, we have anticipated roe deer hunting for next season, which can only be contained through selection. As far as the wild boar is concerned, together with the Provinces and the Atc we are drawing up the extraordinary containment plan ".
