Hunting: Umbria, the councilor for hunting Fernanda Cecchini meets the boar hunting team coordination, “the primary objective is to limit the number of wild boars”.
The excessive presence of wild boars is forcing the regional government to bear an unbearable cost. "There is an absolute need to adopt the changes provided for by the regional regulation of the hunting of wild boar, with the priority and undeferable objective of the numerical limitation of this species", is what the regional councilor for hunting Fernanda Cecchini underlined when meeting with the representatives of the Coordination of Boar Hunting Teams. At the center of the meeting, the draft of the regulation presented in recent days to the wildlife-hunting council. To the representatives of the Coordination, who illustrated their observations on the matter, the commissioner Cecchini reiterated the importance of more decisive and effective actions, in compliance with current regulations, for the containment of wild boars.
"The revision of the regional regulation - he said - has now become unpostponable in consideration of the fact that the impact of the excessive presence of wild boars on agriculture and road traffic is forcing the regional administration to bear a cost, due to compensation paid, absolutely no longer sustainable ". The discussion on the draft regulation will continue with a new meeting of the wildlife-hunting council.
