The Council of Local Authorities approved with 9 votes in favor and 5 abstentions the new wildlife hunting plan 2021-2026 and the related extension of the regional plan of Veneto in force since 2007. The small parliament of local autonomies, met by videoconference under the leadership of the mayor of Maser, on the other hand, he postponed the opinion on the draft law no. 64 amending regional law 14 of 2017 on the containment of land consumption. The regional councilor Francesca Zottis (PD) commented on the vote: “We denounced him immediately: it was impossible to get approved in nine days what hasn't been done in nine years.
Especially if it is a Plan, the Faunistic-Hunting one, of great delicacy and which requires in-depth analysis and comparisons across the board. And eventually the turnaround of the majority came through a proposal for an extension. The knots on the table were too many and heavy: it is in fact an 880-page plan that involves several subjects in the Veneto region. A Plan on which a wide range of aspects depend, from the protection of wildlife to fight against poaching. A measure that in words is said to be favorable to biodiversity and whose beauty of the landscape is praised. But in fact this is not the case: just see what Ispra and Coldiretti say even after this failed blitz attempt.
We already said in December that it would be useful an extension to reach a process of sharing with all the worlds concerned, so that they could also understand their role. The conditions for deciding there were not even from a technical point of view as well as in terms of timing: the maps received for an evaluation were sent to us in very low resolution, impossible to understand how the choices impact the territories. In short, haste and carelessness could not win. And so it was ”.
