At the former Church of San Sebastiano in Corbellino di Fagnano Alto, a conference was held on the theme of "Management of the Deer in the Abruzzo region with particular reference to Sirente Velino Regional Natural Park". Strongly desired by the Regional Councilor for Parks and Reserves Emanuele Imprudente, who underlined the importance of the "management and containment of ungulates given the strong impact on agriculture and on road accidents ”, the convention saw a very varied assembly with the participation of various stakeholders.
However, the outcome is contested by the WWF, as the Stelvio National Park, where “an action of control over the Deer based on the use of the rifle ". The Italian Left L'aquila is also attacking, with Enrico Perilli, regional secretariat, Pierluigi Iannarelli, secretary of Circolo L'Aquila and Francesco Cerasoli, environment and sustainability manager at Circolo Sinistra Italiana L'Aquila. The president and director of the park, Francesco D'Amore, did the honors and Igino Chiuchiarelli, with the collaboration as moderator of Franco Recchia.
"The Park" declared Francesco D'Amore "will proceed in a rational and scientific way in the deepening of the issue, in the acquisition and analysis of the data essential to be able to plan a management strategy that can aim at the right balance between environmental conservation and protection and enhancement of the socio-economic activities present". The topic was addressed at 360 degrees starting from Sandro Nicoloso, wildlife technician of DREAM Italia, with prof. Sandro Lovari of the University of Siena and with the technical staff of the Stelvio National Park, Luca Pedrotti, Alessandro Gugiatti and Luca Corlatti who reported the important experience between conservation and control of the cervo in the National Park.
Francesco Riga of the Higher Institute for the Environment spoke again about the management of deer populations, illustrating the new one Hunting Wildlife Plan approved by the Abruzzo Region. The convention ended with drone images projected by dr. Luigi Palieri of Telespazio who illustrated new possible fauna monitoring techniques (Abruzzoweb.it).
