We report what the Honorable Member said Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of the Lombardia by Brothers of Italy:
“A few days ago a delegation of representatives of Lombard hunting associations was received by president Attilio Fontana. I have carefully read the press release issued by the associations after the meeting and I can only do it agree on many points. If it is true that Fontana devoted a lot of time to this visit and did his best to be as close as possible to the requests and needs of the hunting world, it is equally true that unfortunately some things can no longer be changed.
The associations say: "Now on the table there are fundamental acts for hunting planning that will have immediate effects (like the calendar for next season) and which will sanction the fate of hunting in Lombardy for the next ten years, such as the Hunting Wildlife Plan, the Guidelines for the management of Alpine Galliformes and the regulation of the detention and ringing of breeding calls. The President has well grasped the problematic nature of decisions presented only when largely irreversible, already accompanied by ISPRA opinions which, however, are the result of what has been prepared by the Offices ".
Only continuous confrontation can avoid these misunderstandings in the future. The planning must be constantly shared and the meetings must be tight. Nothing should be underestimated and everything should be analyzed in detail together. The associations are waiting for "concrete signals and in a very short time" and the Region must give them to them. We are talking not only about an important economic sector for Lombardia, but also of a centuries-old tradition and a care of the territory that can never be forgotten.
