After almost twenty years the Regional council of Abruzzo on the proposal of the commissioner Dino Pepe approved the new PFR. "The Regional wildlife plan - says the commissioner Dino Pepe - it is a fundamental tool for the planning and wildlife-hunting programming of the territory and, last but not least, for establish the guidelines and objectives of wildlife-hunting planning through the differentiated destination of the territory, taking into account the environmental and socio-economic realities of the same.
Its adoption represents the final part of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (VAS) procedure ”. The plan will now be published in the Regional Official Bulletin and after the foreseen 60 days to allow interested parties to submit any observations, it will be submitted to the Regional Council for scrutiny. The Plan - created by ISPRA with the collaboration of the regional offices - pays particular attention to wild boar management with the aim of reducing damage to agriculture.
The themes of the programming of the Hunting institutes, in particular of the Zrc, canine areas, protection oases and hunting areas, and an operational protocol is attached to which the ATCs must comply in planning of activities with the aim of replacing the current restocking carried out with farm animals with captive animals from these areas. The Atc have also been subjected to a reduction in the number and members of the same.
