National Animal Protection Authority, League for the Abolition of Hunting, Anti-Vivisection League, Italian Bird Protection League and WWF Italy wrote to Paolo Gentiloni, current Prime Minister, to point out what they think is one exceptional situation of illegitimacy. According to environmental and animal welfare associations, in fact, in many regions of our country the hunting laws do not comply with the national framework and the dictation of the Constitution.
In the joint letter you can read how the protection of ecosystems and wildlife. The associations spoke expressly of "Italy hunting case", pointing the finger above all against Veneto, Lombardy, Puglia and Liguria. The latter would have approved rules that violate the Constitution. Animal rights activists did not like the new hunting mobility introduced by Veneto and not even the Lombard rules for the annotation of animals killed on the hunting card.
The faults of Puglia, on the other hand, would be those of having improperly defined the hunting exercise, while Liguria has allowed the marketing in festivals and fairs of animals killed during hunting. The Government was expressly asked to challenge these four laws, which is why serious and urgent corrective measures should be implemented.
