La Provincial Federcaccia of Brescia announced the progress of the session of the Committee for Order and Security, chaired by Annunziato Vardè, Prefect of the Lombard city. The meeting was very important and saw the participation of representatives of theAgriculture Department of the Lombardy Region, in addition to the police, the delegated councilor of the Province and the commander of the Provincial Police. We talked about the selective control of wild boars, animals for which the Province has decided to give the green light to the culling plan valid until 2020.
The competence of the plan is provincial and authorized figures can be used, certainly different from the provincial guards and hunting agents. This is why the association underlined how their requests were accepted, given that the Brescia Prefecture has recognized the role of social utility of hunters. Federcaccia Brescia therefore said she was satisfied, wishing at the same time that other Italian prefectures would follow the same example.
The abatement plan referred to above (in force since this year) has received a positive opinion from the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), a step that in these cases is fundamental and necessary.
