ANUU Migrators with a worried look at the issue of exceptions says "stop wasting time ..."
Time passes quickly and, while the month of June has already begun, our concern is growing on the subject of exceptions and live recalls. In recent days, we have forwarded a very clear letter to all Lombardy Regional Councilors to address the issues of hunting in derogation, collection of live calls and the Regional Wildlife Observatory with extreme urgency.
In recent times, the only moment of direct confrontation between the Regional Councilors and the hunting associations was last March 31st during the interprovincial table, where some possible approaches to resolving the aforementioned issues were discussed. Considering the importance of the issues to be resolved, it is necessary to urgently bring together the regional political forces and all the hunting associations to find a quick and concrete solution.
Two motions were approved in the Lombardy Region to start the Regional Observatory, necessary in the absence of ISPRA for the calculation of the "small quantities" referred to in art. 9 of the “Birds” Directive, all enhanced by the sentence of the Constitutional Court n.16 / 2012 concerning the Region of Sardinia which recalls its full validity.
We certainly do not discover the difficulty on the subject of exceptions today, however the sentences at the various constitutional levels have reaffirmed the objective possibility of such a levy: in Lombardy, in particular, the decisive framework law no. 24 of 30 July 2008 which, having only been repealed some non-decisive paragraphs, provides a clear legal and legislative indication on which to operate.
We are aware of the fact that society and politics are grappling with other more general, serious and complex issues, but this cannot justify in any way that the hunting issues finally find no solution.
The ANUUMigratoristi believes that discussing these concepts with respect and competence is a duty that the political world has towards hunters, citizens who deserve the same attention and consideration reserved for their European colleagues, their traditions and their values closely linked to the territories and to the communities in which they live and work on a daily basis.
