La hunting, in this crazy year, obviously takes a back seat, compared to the tragedy of the pandemic. The fact remains that hunters carry out an activity in contact with nature, in large spaces, where the risk of getting infected is very minimal. For this, we can only welcome the decision of the Emilia Romagna region, the Liguria Region and the Marche Region to allow, even in the orange zone, wild boar hunting outside the Municipality of residence.
This on condition, however, that it is only an appetizer and that, immediately after, it is granted the same treatment also for practitioners of other forms of hunting. We can understand that wild boar hunting, in all its forms, is fundamental for the prevention of damage and to reduce the risk of spreading African Swine Fever, but we remain convinced that the hunting activity has a truly negligible impact on the spread of the virus. So we can only ask, for hunters who are in the Orange and Red Zone, the same treatment enjoyed by many other citizens who find the right outlet and healthy physical activity in the open air in their passion.
Hunters and an important induction will benefit from it: that of armories, hunting farms and wildlife, manufacturers of weapons, ammunition, clothing, boots, etc. .. A world of jobs certainly no less than that of other economic sectors. For this reason, now that there has been this opening on a single form of hunting, we ask for equal treatment for the others as well. Because hunters are a big family, where no one is left behind.
