The appointment of the commissioner
The Regional Council, with Resolution no. 1587 of 6 November, appointed Dr. Commissioner. Pierluca Milletti to reconstitute the corporate bodies ofTerritorial Hunting Area AN2. This decision was taken by the Marche Region after the requests made by the united agricultural world, by - unfortunately - a few hunting associations, including Arci Caccia and by the majority of hunters registered with the ATC AN2. Last January, the Regional Councilor Giacomo Rossi, with an ad hoc question, had even urged the Region to take measures after having become aware of the objectively unsatisfactory management results.
A growing faunal imbalance
The almost thirty-year management of the old guard, due to incorrect and -often- unorthodox political decisions, has led to an almost unsustainable situation. In fact, in the Municipalities included in the territory of ATC AN2, there has been an incessantly growing faunal imbalance with the consequent loss of biodiversity. The constant decrease in the presence of minor huntable sedentary fauna has led to a notable drop in the number of registered hunters (-20% approximately only in the period 2019-2023) and an out-of-control management of wild boar, with the consequent increase in its density, which has caused a constant increase in damage to agricultural crops.
Striking examples
The following are just a couple of examples of the anti-democratic political action perpetrated by the "feudal" administration of the AN2 ATC, in defiance of the popular and representative principles enshrined in the regional and national legislation of reference:
in 2018, the "feudal lords" decided to exclude the Arci Caccia from the renewed Assembly because the number of members "is not sufficient to guarantee access to the Assembly";
a few years later, the Management Committee was preparing to approve an internal regulation to revoke the members of the associative bodies who did not align themselves with the authoritarian resolutions of the "baron of the moment".
The decision to abandon the "sinking ship", months ago, by the representatives in the Management Committee of Farmers, Environmentalists and by the representatives of the Marche Region and the Municipality of Fabriano, was not enough for the "old guard" to understand that maybe there was something wrong. Indeed, with a statement dated October 27th, the few survivors of the adrift "boat" issued a statement in which they blamed the farmers for having "penalized the management of the Area" precisely because of the mass resignations from the associative bodies. Absurd right? But that's not all. In fact, we learned that, a few days ago, two lawyers sent a legal opinion to the hunting associations, not to us at Arci Caccia - they probably already know which side we are on - with which they propose the line of attack based on a " excess of power" and "violation of the law" to challenge the regional resolution of the administration of ATC AN2 before the TAR (DGR 1587/23). The really strange thing is that the two lawyers appointed to advise those present at an alleged "meeting on November 24th" (who will be the participants??) it seems they are still legal consultants of ATC AN2.
Possible appearance in court
While waiting to find out which hunting associations intend to legitimize the almost thirty-year work of the ATC AN2 commissioner, we wish Commissioner Dr. good work. Milletti and we immediately make ourselves available, together with the Agricultural Associations and anyone who wants it, to organize a public demonstration in support of the Region in the choice to commission the AN2 ATC. Furthermore, if an appeal is lodged against the DGR of commissioner, Arci Caccia Marche will appear in court alongside the Region (source: Arci Caccia).
