Arci Caccia: new "heroes" and "false prophets" of effective animalism invade politics.
The run-up to "effective animalism" continues to produce new "heroes" and "false prophets" every day. After the petitions and questions to the Minister of the Environment presented by some parliamentarians of SEL (De Petris and Petraglia) against the appointment of Luca Santini - hunter - to the Presidency of the Casentinesi Forest Park, and which follow the positions taken in the election campaign by the its leader Nicki Vendola, then partly denied locally by some candidates and exponents of the same party, to the total subjection of the PDL towards the positions of former Minister Brambilla and some exponents of the center-right who, as in the case of Siena, they provoke noisy and disordered initiatives in the name of animalism (think that they were all originally united under the "Hunter President"), today adds the eccentric protagonism of Alberto Lenzi, head of the animal welfare department of the Tuscan PD.
Perhaps it is the case that the PD also clarifies an embarrassing ambiguity: the simultaneous existence of a pro-hunting line in support of wildlife management (the same that contributed to producing the advanced regional legislation in this matter) is compatible with the department " animal welfare "coordinated by Alberto Lenzi who, despite the disavowal of Sani and Spinelli regarding his recent stance - on his website he joins the animal rights enthusiasm for the moratorium decided by the Province on the containment of foxes and launches an online signature collection to demonstrate that the "animal friends" are more than the approximately one hundred thousand Tuscan hunters? How can these conflicting visions "coexist" within the same Party?
Even knowing that many political forces, internally, are characterized by differentiated positions on this issue, in this specific case we are faced with a real organized sector of work that enters into the merits of the actuality of the debate and tries to guide its results. .
It is correct that the same exponent of the Party of the Provincial Councilor of Siena joins the cheering chorus of the animal rights group that obviously has not grasped the objective of reconstructing the climate of serenity that the one-month moratorium decided by Anna Maria Betti has offered to all sensitivities who are confronted with wildlife management? It is normal that a department of the relative majority party that in Tuscany has the responsibility of governing most of the institutions, instead of supporting a balanced position that heralds the establishment of the "fauna common good" Committee, reinforces the position of animal rights associations as if was itself an integral part of it? How is it possible that a working sector of the Tuscan PD becomes the megaphone of a noisy faction that claims an alleged ethical superiority that it certainly cannot boast?
We believe that it is absolutely necessary to regain seriousness and balance. Differences of opinion, always legitimate, can only be fruitful if placed in this context; if instead, as we seem to perceive in this case, it is a way of gaining personal visibility and a bit of passing celebrity, it means that politics would have completely abandoned its role of orientation. To reacquire it is a necessity that cannot be postponed, under penalty of loss of prestige and authority.
In this complicated phase, we need everything but further confusion.
