VENETIAN TO WWF: BEFORE 1967 HE WAS FAITHFUL MILITARY SERVICE.
(SAY) Rome, 27 Sept. - "Sorry that there is an instrumental use of the victims of hunting" and "it is false to say that there is no qualification for the use of weapons" by hunters. Osvaldo Veneziano, president of the Arcicaccia, thus replies - to the Dire agency - to the declarations of the WWF. The Panda association has in fact claimed that "over a third of Italian hunters have never taken the examination to qualify for the use of weapons". Veneziano is keen to emphasize that "it is not so". The WWF refers to the framework law 799 of 1967, before which according to environmentalists "there was no examination or evaluation".
For the president of the Arcicaccia, “it is false, because before that law all Italians who carried out military service trained in the use of weapons”, and did so by handling “rifles and machine guns”, firing “really”. Therefore "for the hunting license it was enough to present the military discharge", which attested to the ability to use weapons. "For those who did not do military service - continues the president of the Arcicaccia - it was necessary to register for the national dartboard". Veneziano says "enough to exploit": in terms of hunting activities, rather, "other security measures should be sought, such as high visibility clothing". That is, one could “wear fluorescent vests like those that must be kept in a car”.
