The Italian Association of Catholic Guides and Scouts of Europe, of the Federation of European Scouting, Tarquinia I S. Margherita Group, will be present at the 2011 Game Fair with a series of activities that aim to “learn by doing”.
Around a “galley tent” and an antenna for the flags, which recreate the classic field, the Association will propose the following activities: “the fire box”, preparation and methods of lighting the fire; “The Miner's refuge”, construction of a makeshift refuge; “The passage to the marinara”, the Spanish tourniquet to stretch the rope; “The cableway, or building and testing a short cableway with the use of a harness and pulley; “Knots and ligatures”, to create and use a self-supporting Swedish framework; “The compass”, practical use and card point with the help of IGM maps of the area; “The time without a clock”, construction of a sundial to read the time and teaching the method of the American scout; making a catapult and a water rocket.
All activities will be collected in a small pantry (technical aid), which will be left to
each participant. In addition, there will be a series of games, songs, bans typical of the scout bivouacs, small tug-of-war tournaments, scout ball and more. In the space dedicated to the Association there will be an adequate number of uniformed "leaders" and two explorers.
